A not-for-profit Aboriginal owned and run art centre, Yarrenyty Arltere Artists is located in the Larapinta Valley Town Camp, Mparntwe/Alice Springs on Arrernte Country. Since its establishment in 2000, Yarrenyty Arltere Artists have become known for their unique and distinctive soft sculptures that reveal stories and experiences of life in their community. Yarrenyty Arltere Artists are represented throughout Australia in public and private collections, are two-time winners of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards’ Wandjuk Marika Memorial 3D Award and have been included in major Australian exhibitions such as the 2018 NGV Triennial, the 21st Biennale of Sydney, and annually at TARNANTHI Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art.

For Portrait23: Identity, Yarrenyty Arltere Artists Marlene Rubuntja, Rosabella Ryder, Rhonda Sharpe, Dulcie Sharpe and Roxanne Petrick are creating a series of soft sculpture memory portraits made from bush-dyed recycled woollen blankets embellished with wool, cotton and feathers.
