Shea Kirk. Video length: 1 minute 48 seconds

- So this portrait here is part of a much larger series I've been shooting off and on for a number of years now. So my practise, I work solely with large format photography, which to me I find that to be a really important part of my process. So I think, personally for me, it's really important to try to supply a space for the people that I'm photographing where they feel completely safe and in control. And so it's a really slow process, like a short shoot, we might work like three and a half, four hours.

- Yeah. Wow.

- I think with Ella we were shooting up to like eight or nine.

- And I think you've illustrated just how diverse photography as a medium can be and why it's so interesting, I think, to be able to hear you speak about a long meditative process, that really is stretching out a moment in time through to photographers in this exhibition who may be press photographers or who are very used to that one second in time but thousands of photographs recording them.

- And there's very valid and great ways of both processes and that's what's great about, I guess, photography as a medium is it's so individual and you have the ability to pretty much shoot whatever way you feel like best achieves what you're trying to create.
