Lauren Sutton and Poppy. Video length: 1 minute 24 seconds

- Would you like to tell us a little bit about yourself and your beautiful portrait?

- Yes, and my name's Lauren and this is Poppy, and this is obviously a self portrait of us taken last year in August when we sort of went into lockdown in Canberra and we had all these trips planned and we were like, and I was really excited about getting back into photography again and after maternity leave and yeah. So I was like, okay, I'm just gonna take photos at home and yeah.

- And have you been taking photographs for a long time?

- Yeah, quite a while. Probably professionally for the last few years but definitely more of a hobby before that, but yeah I think it's helped building sort of my practise slowly to sort of find my style a bit more and yeah, who I am as a photographer.

- And his portraiture something that is common in your photography practise.

- Yeah. Lots of families and since having her and maternity, yeah newborns and families and a few weddings and things. But yeah, definitely love taking photos of people and yeah, those more so, I guess more of a documentary sort of style of finding moments that people wanna remember.

- And how did you feel when you got the news that you were a finalist in the prize?

- I was very shocked. I wasn't even gonna enter and my grandma said, "No, you have to enter." So yeah. Very, yeah happy and proud of, yeah, what we achieved.
