Dancing With Memories

Streamed live at 11:30am (AEDT), Friday 21st January 2022
Dancing with memories. Video length: 58 minutes

Make some moving memories with us! Dancing With Memories author Sally Yule will join us for a special reading of her book. She will waltz us with her words, and then we’ll warm down with a stretch of our imaginations by getting crafty and creative.

This program is for children and their families and especially celebrates grandparents and our exceptional elders!

We also warmly welcome D/deaf and hard of hearing community members, with Auslan interpretation and open captioning.

Some materials you will need to get crafty with us:

  • One large piece of paper
  • A2 is a good size, and you can make this by joining 4 x A4 sheets, or even using the blank side of some thick wrapping paper.
  • Some long strips of paper
  • A2 length is recommended, or join together the short ends of some A4 sheets, or use the blank side of some thick wrapping paper.
  • Something to draw with, like markers, pencils or crayons
  • Scissors (remember to ask for help with these if you need it!)
  • Sticky tape

Sally Yule is a first time children’s author with her inaugural book, Dancing with Memories, published in March 2021. For almost 30 years, Sally has worked in the aged and health care sectors. In many of her roles, she has supported people directly affected by dementia, partnering with them and the families who care for them. Sally continues to be in awe of care workers and the love and dedication they bring to their work. Over the years, Sally has been part of the development and implementation of innovative services in aged care, dementia care and palliative care. With her siblings, Sally is part of a care team that supports her parents, Wendy and Bob, to live well with dementia.
