Allow us to paint the possibilities of your wedding reception. Your invited guests arrive at 6.30pm, parking in our free underground carpark. Our security team will greet guests at the front doors, and elegant canapés and beverages will be presented. Meanwhile you and your bridal party may enjoy having photographs taken in the magnificent gardens of the parliamentary triangle.
Your cocktail reception may begin in the stunning Gordon Darling Hall, featuring timbers from every state in Australia and westerly views into Reconciliation Place. Or it could be in the external Forecourt, an all-weather venue ideal for cocktails.
The Gallery team will then invite your guests into the Gordon Darling Hall or the Terrace Room overlooking Lake Burley Griffin. Guests will enjoy entrée, main course and dessert followed by speeches, cake cutting, bridal dance and dancing.

Most importantly, the National Portrait Gallery hosts only one event per evening, so for one night, it's exclusively yours!
