Lunch or dinner

Enjoy lunch in the naturally lit Terrace Room that opens onto a north facing, outdoor heated terrace and, on conclusion, be inspired by the free permanent collection.

Consider the National Portrait Gallery for your next gala dinner, awards night or conference dinner. Our team will greet your guests at the front doors and present elegant canapés and beverages. Begin your evening in either the stunning Gordon Darling Hall, featuring timbers from every state in Australia and westerly views into Reconciliation Place, or in the external Forecourt, an all-weather venue ideal for cocktails.

From there, your guests could explore the galleries, coming face-to-face with the famous, the infamous and the sometimes forgotten icons of Australian history. Seating can be in the Gordon Darling Hall or Terrace Room for entrée, main course and dessert, followed by the fomalities of the evening.
