One of the versions of thick, macho moustache strongly associated in the Australian visual lexicon with sportsmen of the 1970s and 80s.

The Dipper shares a lineage with the ‘taches sported by men like David Boon, John Newcombe, Malcolm Blight, Leigh Matthews, and Dennis Lillee, and is teamed with a rich shadow of stubble.
