My auntie is Helen Garner, who's an Australian author, and this photo was taken at my dad's place in the country, our family reunion. It was the first post COVID get together that we had. I had my medium format camera to take a nice portrait of the family and just happened to see Helen in this really natural pose. She was shutting the gate to keep the dog away from the spit. And I thought it encapsulated who she is as an author in her work. It's the beauty in the everyday.
