Untitled Isabelle De Kleine, b. 1994, Victoria. Video length: 5:07

Untitled is a portrait of Curtis Edwards, who has the autoimmune disease, alopecia. The work intends to explore an emotive state of being overwhelmed and consumed by societal expectations, pushing the subject into a state of deep introversion and isolation. Untitled intends to visualise an alternative ‘reality’ driven by a glitched, warped and fragmented understanding of what one sees. The portrait has been heavily rendered in post-production, using auto generator tools to slow down footage, masking layers and forming a strange pulse. This creates a surreal visualisation of the subject, touching on notions of glitch and something beyond human.
