This exhibition of outstanding finalist works, including two award winners, supports artists working with screen-based technology and cultivates digital portraiture as an evolving art form.

With the generous support of Macquarie Group Foundation, we are offering two awards. A cash prize of $10,000 enables an artist aged 18 and over to grow their practice. A residency at The Edge, State Library of Queensland, enables an artist aged 18 to 30 to participate in a community exploring creativity across art, science, technology and enterprise.

The winner of the cash prize for the Macquarie Digital Portraiture Award for 2015 is Ilya Milstein; Isabelle de Kleine has been awarded the residency.

Rigorous visual form and careful consideration of soundscape and duration characterise the six finalist artworks. Their beauty and precision strongly impressed the judges Karen Vickery (National Portrait Gallery), Anne O’Hehir (National Gallery of Australia), Nell (artist) and Dr Christopher Chapman (National Portrait Gallery).
