Dr Ray Marginson AM (1923-2019) was Vice-Principal of the University of Melbourne from 1966 to 1988. Founder of the University's Potter Gallery, he recently established the Victorian Jazz Archive in conjunction with ScreenSound Australia. From 1988 to 1994 he was President of the Museum of Victoria. He spent ten years as part-time Chairman of Melbourne Water and during this period was closely involved with its parks' development programme. An annual landscape design scholarship in his name is offered at Burnley Horticultural College.
