Canadian-born photographic team Denis Montalbetti and Gay Campbell arrived in Australia in 1988. In high demand for advertising and fashion, Montalbetti + Campbell's particular strength is portrait photography. Their iconic image of X-Files stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in bed featured on the cover of Rolling Stone and they have featured in magazines such as Vogue, Inside Sport, The Australian Financial Review Magazine and GQ. They have received numerous awards and industry recognition including the Communication Arts Photography Annual Awards of Excellence (USA), Canon Australian Institute of Professional Photographers: Professional Photographer of the Year award, Head On Portrait Prize Critic's Choice award, and inclusion in the Fuji ACMP Photography Collection. Their work is represented in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery of Australia. Since 2001 they have been based in New York.
