Megan Gale (b. 1975), model, entrepreneur and media personality, achieved fame in Italy before becoming widely recognised in Australia. Perth-born Gale won a modelling competition at eighteen in 1994 and moved to Sydney, however her career didn't take off until she gained a contract with Italian telecommunications company Omnitel in 1999. Having lived in Europe for some years, in 2003 she was engaged by the Australian Tourism Commission to promote Australia as a destination for Italian visitors. Gale walked her first show for David Jones in 1995 and represented the brand for thirteen years from 2001, the longest-held fashion contract in Australia. She last walked the runway for Alex Perry in 2011 at the Melbourne Fashion Festival. In 2010 she launched a swimwear label, Isola, and played the part of an Italian model in the Australian film I Love You Too. After a role in Russell Crowe's The Water Diviner (2014), she played the Valkyrie in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). She was behind the MG homewares capsule collection for Target Australia and launched a children's skincare brand, Mindful Life. On television, Gale has presented segments of Getaway, has been a host and judge on Project Runway and Australia's Next Top Model, and often appears on The Project on Channel Ten. She hosted 9Life series Australia's Best House in 2021.
