Ellen Dahl (b. 1968) grew up in Hammerfest in Norway and studied photography at the Brooks Institute of Photography in California. She began her career as a commercial photographer after moving to Australia in 1997. Starting in advertising, she progressed to editorial photography, focusing on beauty and fashion. Her work has been included in various magazines including Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Marie Claire, Yen, Black + White, Noise, Instyle, Biba (Paris) and ELLE (Singapore). As an artist, Dahl works across photography, video, sound and installation, often using the landscape as a starting point. Her works have been exhibited at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne, Perth Centre for Photography, Kings Artist Run, Melbourne and the National Portrait Gallery. She completed her Master of Fine Arts at Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney in 2015.
