Transport Canberra bus routes 2 and 6 stop on Parkes Place East just across the road from the National Portrait Gallery. Transport NSW bus route 830 also uses this stop.
Transport Canberra bus routes 4, 5, 7, 10, 180 and 181 stop outside the Albert Hall which is around 15 minutes walking distance from the National Portrait Gallery. There is a pedestrian underpass below Commonwealth Avenue to access the Northbound stop. To get to the Gallery walk through the carpark towards the Treasury building, and then follow the footpath along King Edward Terrace towards the Gallery.
