The National Portrait Gallery's travelling exhibition program aims to develop a national audience for portraiture, to connect with new audiences and to extend the understanding of Australian identity in all its complexity.

The National Portrait Gallery's travelling exhibition program incorporates a range of diverse exhibitions drawing on historical and contemporary portraits across varied media. Established in 2008, the program has toured to remote, regional, and metropolitan venues in all states and territories within Australia.
