A headshot is the actor's business card, a portrait that plays a crucial role in casting films. Between the early 1980s and mid-2000s, Stuart Campbell was one of the busiest headshot photographers for Sydney actors. His subjects would perch on a red bucket in his Bondi Beach apartment. His darkroom was a converted laundry and he hung his prints on a Hills Hoist to dry. Bruce Spence made his film debut in the title role of director Tim Burstall's Stork (1971), and he has since had a long career in theatre, film and television, including Matrix, Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings films.
