Sasha Grishin AM (birth date undisclosed) is the Sir William Dobell Professor of Art History at the Australian National University. Grishin studied art history at the universities of Melbourne, Moscow, London and Oxford and has served several terms as visiting scholar at Harvard University. In 1977 he founded the Fine Art Program at the Australian National University. Based at ANU ever since, he works internationally as an art historian, art critic and curator, with particular interests in Medieval Byzantine and Russian art and Australian 20th century art, especially printmaking. He has written the major monograph and a catalogue raisonné of John Brack; monographs on Leonard French, John Wolseley, Andrew Sibley, Garry Shead and Bruno Leti; three volumes on Australian printmaking; and several decades' worth of art criticism for the Canberra Times.
