Mick Molloy (b. 1966), radio host, actor, writer and producer, was born in Canberra and studied performing arts at the University of Melbourne. Australian audiences met him through the satirical television series The D-Generation (1987) and The Comedy Company (1989), for which he also wrote. A hilarious, pioneering radio program he hosted with Tony Martin, Martin/Molloy, ran for two hours five afternoons a week between 1995 and 1998. In 2000 he produced and directed the film Tackle Happy, a documentary about the stage act Puppetry of the Penis; soon after he co-wrote Crackerjack with his brother Richard. He acted in the telemovies of the Shane Maloney novels Stiff and The Brush Off in 2004, played Kim’s father in Kath and Kim in 2003-2004 and co-wrote, produced and acted in the feature film BoyTown, released in 2006. Following some six years on Triple M breakfast radio in Melbourne and Brisbane, in 2017 he took the drive slot with Jane Kennedy, broadcasting nationally as Kennedy/Molloy. Having spent five years to 2013 on Channel Ten’s Before the Game and hosting Channel 7’s The Front Bar from 2015, he continues to voice his thoughts on AFL games, particularly involving the Richmond Tigers.
