Clive Blazey (b. 1944) is the founder and managing director of the Digger's Club, Australia's largest gardening club, with about 40 000 members. He is author of The Australian Vegetable Garden: what's new is old and is presently working on The Australian Food Garden. Blazey and the Digger's Club are largely responsible for the rescue and re-introduction of heirloom vegetable seeds in Australia and lead the battle against the production and distribution of genetically engineered and hybrid crops. Clive and his wife Penny began the club in 1978 in their house at Albert Park. Their company Digger's aims to 'explore the relationship between growing and serving fresh food that is full of favour, fresh and inspirational.'
