Willow Legge (b. 1934) is a British artist who studied sculpture at Chelsea School of Art from 1951 to 1956 under Willi Soukop and Bernard Meadows. There she met and married fellow artist Ron King, who is now one of the UK's leading makers of artist’s books. After a period in Canada, where she worked as a portrait sculptor, she returned to England with her family and settled in Guildford, continuing sculptural work alongside family commitments and a part-time career in art therapy. Between 1987 and 2000 she worked freelance for Madame Tussauds in London, her subjects including the Queen of Denmark, the King of Norway, Paul Keating, John Howard and Mel Gibson. At the same time, she continued her own sculptural practice, which includes remarkable representations of animals, birds and babies. She has shown in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, and in Mirror Mirror, the National Portrait Gallery (London) touring exhibition of women artist' self-portraits in 2002. A member of the Society of Portrait Sculptors, she has shown portraits in their annual exhibitions since 1997. Her works are held by the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Yale Center for British Art and the universities of Vermont, Houston and Warwick.
