Canberra-born artist Tony Clark moved to London with his family in 1960. His first exhibition was with Art Projects Melbourne in 1982; over the next ten years he participated in many group shows, and held solo shows with Anna Schwartz in Melbourne and Roslyn Oxley 9 in Sydney. He was awarded the John McCaughey Memorial Art Prize in Melbourne in 1994. Recent individual exhibitions include Meltdown at the South Bank, London (1999), and Floral Design (2002) and Flowerpieces (2003) at Roslyn Oxley 9 Gallery, Sydney. Paintings by Clark have recently toured in Hothouse: The Flower in Contemporary Art (2003-4) and Sublime: 25 years of the Wesfarmers Collection of Australian Art (2002-4). His works are held in the public collections of the AGNSW, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, the AGWA and the NGV.
