Nathan Kelly (b. 1976), photographer, studied fine arts at the Sydney College of the Arts at the University of Sydney before being named as one of Australia’s top 30 photography graduates by Australian Commercial Photography magazine. As a freelance photographer, he worked for the Sydney Morning Herald and magazines including Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. In 1998 he collaborated with his brother Brett Kelly on Collective Wisdom, a book of interviews with prominent Australians for which he provided the photographs. Kelly has tackled portrait subjects as diverse as the Dalai Lama, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Nick Cave and Anthony Warlow, and worked for Mushroom Records, the Bell Shakespeare Company and the Sydney City mission among many corporate and theatrical clients. The National Portrait Gallery holds his photographs of John Gorton, Seaman Dan, and Mark and Nick Seymour.
