Jill Hickson Wran AM (b. 1948) graduated from the University of Sydney and then worked for Qantas. In 1976 she married Neville Wran, then Premier of NSW. She returned to university and was awarded an MBA from the University of NSW in 1983. That year she established Hickson Associates, a literary agency, where she represented authors including Bryce Courtenay, Thomas Keneally and Kathy Lette. Her company was acquired by Curtis Brown in 1999. Wran is a long-term supporter of the Historic Houses Trust and served as chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2002 until 2009. She was formerly on the boards of the Sydney Opera House Trust, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, NSW Conservatorium of Music, Sydney Theatre and the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust.
