Elle Macpherson (b. 1964) is an entrepreneur, model, actor and television host. Born Eleanor Gow in Killara in Sydney's north, at eighteen Macpherson appeared in a now iconic 1982 TV advertisement for TAB Cola. She went on to become one of the leading supermodels in the world, walking the runway for high-end designers, appearing in advertising campaigns and dominating magazine covers, including her record five covers of the Sports Illustrated annual swimsuit edition. Cementing her supermodel status, in 1986 Time magazine ran a cover story entitled 'The Big Elle', where she was coined 'The Body'. Along with appearing in films including Sirens (1993), If Lucy Fell (1995), The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996), Batman and Robin (1997), The Edge (1997) and South Kensington (2001), and guest starring in the American sitcom Friends, Macpherson has been a host and executive producer for the television shows Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model and Fashion Star. She appeared as an Australian 'icon' in the closing ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Her business ventures include Elle Macpherson Intimates and Elle Macpherson The Body, and in 2014 she co-founded WelleCo and released its flagship product, Super Elixir.
