David Ian Campese (b. 1962) is the world's leading representative rugby union footballer, having played 101 tests for Australia between 1982 and 1996. The son of Italian immigrants, Campese grew up in Queanbeyan, NSW, and attended St Edmund's School in Canberra. He is the world's leading Test try scorer (64) and holds an equal record for the most number of tries in a Test match (4). Known as the world's greatest winger, in 1996 'Campo' was awarded a UNESCO prize as one of the outstanding sportsmen of the century. He is now a successful entrepreneur. While Campese himself maintains a presence at the coffee machine in his sports-store-cum-café in The Rocks, Sydney, his David Campese Management Group includes athletes George Gregan, Patrick Johnson and Kyle van der Kuyp in its portfolio, markets a range of sports memorabilia, and offers corporate hospitality services and sports-related speakers.
