Let them eat cake, by Zoom, 2020

The second of April 2020: a new experience accompanies a child's birthday, a result of the Covid pandemic's enforced conditions. Full lockdown, no school, no party, no immediate family relatives. Sound delays and technical hitches abound as we conjure birthday spirit via Zoom magic … but at least the cake was real and spectacular. As was cousin Sophie's long and tender gaze.
