James was on holiday napping by the pool when he was woken by screams from his mother. He raced over to find a powerless man holding his lifeless three-year-old daughter, Cherelle, who was blue, foaming from the mouth and nose and had no pulse. Eighteen-year-old James took control. He says he was on ‘autopilot’. Several intense minutes later James brought her back to
life and she started to cry. He told me he couldn’t erase the image of Cherelle being placed before him and it was difficult to let go of the responsibility that had been put upon him until he knew Cherelle had fully recovered.
