National Photographic Portrait Prize 2013 Finalist
I selected this portrait of Harry Greenwood from a larger body of work that documents man’s obsession with the time worn ‘sport’ of rock throwing. Through my work I strive to unobtrusively capture moments in which people are caught within the haze of their own mind – a liminal space where time stands still. I find these moments both daunting and inspiring. It is the stuff that makes us human, our ability to reflect and turn inwards. Here, we see a man, mid-thought and off-guard. This image was taken at Fosterton in New South Wales on the banks of the Williams River.
