National Photographic Portrait Prize 2012 Finalist
Together with a group of Polish anthropologists, I did a project on the last remaining Jiddish speaking Jews in Lithuania. This is a portrait of Mojsze Preisz. Mojsze spent a few years in a concentration camp during the war. In this picture he is holding an old aluminium bowl with many indentations, which has many times saved his tummy from Nazi kicks and punches, and has served as a dish for his single daily meals, as well as a toilet bowl in some occasions.
