Little Darlings Youth Portrait Prize 2022 Finalist
16-18 years
This artwork captures the face of my dad. This image, a combination of lino-cutting techniques, highlights the direction of light on his face and his facial expression. I was focused on communicating his sense of identity through the assured and content expression on his face. Inspired by Neil Shigley, this artwork accentuates the idea of what it means to be human.
Little Darlings is for primary and secondary students, with four separate categories across Kindergarten to Year 12. Responding to the theme ‘identity’, students painted, drew, photographed, printed or combined all of these to make their portrait.
