Little Darlings Youth Portrait Prize 2022 Finalist
8-11 years
The person in the portrait is Bridget Valentine. That is me. I’m a year 5 primary school student. I like drawing. I also like playing my clarinet. I have two budgies and they like to peck on my ears, hahaha… My mum always says Australia is an amazing country of beautiful people. I think it is the native flora and fauna, Uluru, as old as the Australian continent, traditional owners of country and their culture, and modern multiracial culture that makes Australia a great home for me and others. This is my home and I am proud to be an Australian.
Little Darlings is for primary and secondary students, with four separate categories across Kindergarten to Year 12. Responding to the theme ‘identity’, students painted, drew, photographed, printed or combined all of these to make their portrait.
