Darling Portrait Prize 2020 Finalist
This is a portrait of my family: me, Casper and Ly. I painted it across many fragmented, short sessions during my son’s day naps – my prized breaks as a stay-at-home parent. I am not a professional artist. This painting exists because I had become dislocated from my former life as a working adult, and was navigating my day-to-day purpose as a parent and husband. It exists because it is lonely to be a dad. It exists because I love my wife and son.
