National Photographic Portrait Prize 2009 Finalist
My husband Les Mason was a major force in graphic design in Melbourne. In recent years he has suffered bouts of ill health. I caught him lying on the bed in Candi Dasa in Bali recently, and wondered what he was thinking, whether he was wondering if he would do the same all over again.
In its second year at the National Portrait Gallery, and for the first time touring to other venues, the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2009 continues to present surprising perspectives on the nature of contemporary portrait photography.
