National Photographic Portrait Prize 2010 Finalist
Music fans with their roots in the 1970s and the 1980s will be familiar with the name Gunther Gorman. Gunther enjoyed a rich musical journey through this amazing era in Australian popular culture with live performances, studio recordings and appearances with some of the greats, including Sherbet, Ol'55, Richard Clapton and Daddy Cool. An art student before detouring into the wonderful world of rock and roll, in recent years Gunther has returned his creative energies to painting. This photograph captures some of Gunther's relentless crackle.
The National Photographic Portrait Prize is an annual event intended to promote the very best in contemporary photographic portraiture by both professional and aspiring Australian photographers.
