The lino cut is an impression of life. It is not intended to be a particularly emotional or angry piece, as the jail bars might suggest. It simply reflects the fact that I often feel caged or controlled by my own and other people's expectations of myself. The climbing tree branches and falling leaves in the background represent freedom and a certain type of wild beauty I perceive in nature. This is what I love best and ironically the thing I cannot see.
