Visual reflections, 2010

Year 12, Narrabundah College ACT
oil on canvas

I am in an intimate and raw state in this portrait, encouraging the viewer to be drawn to my open expression. The earthy tones enhance this picture's honesty. The composition is made up primarily of me and a simple background. All of these technical elements work to draw attention to my face. The portrait provides an opportunity to open myself up in an honest way - my bare shoulders expose my figure in a sincere manner. It allows people to get to know me visually, and more importantly, emotionally.
