Through my portrait I wish to reflect the importance of family, and how daily tasks can pass unappreciated. I wanted to portray my Nanna performing a basic routine in her life that creates meaning for her. The small scratches on this print lend the feeling that this image could be from long ago, before the days of digital cameras and colour photos. I aimed to recreate an antique feeling by printing on matte silver gelatine paper. I want this photo to evoke memories of good moments spent in the kitchen with a loving family.
