‘This is a portrait of me, Peter Hughes, having my medium, lactose-free cappuccino in a takeaway cup, at a café during my holiday in Miriam Vale. Having lived in Australia my whole life, I have enjoyed many road trips to various places around the country and these become inspirational subject matter for my paintings.’

Peter Hughes is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based artist and member of Brisbane Outsider Artists whose practice is inspired by day-to-day life experiences and current events. Hughes uses painting to communicate and process his experiences, thoughts and feelings.
