Portrait acquisition enquiries

Thank you for your offer to the National Portrait Gallery Collection and for the details you have provided. We will undertake an initial review of your offer and be in contact over the coming months. Should the Gallery wish to move forward with your offer as a proposed acquisition in the future we will advise you of this intention via email.

Please note that the Gallery’s acquisition process, which includes number of steps including the initial curatorial review, culminates in a formal submission of the proposed acquisition to the National Portrait Gallery Board. The due diligence undertaken at all stages does mean that the overall process may take up to 12-18 months, depending on the nature of the offer. If you have any questions in regards to the Gallery’s acquisition process or a submitted offer please contact acquisitions@npg.gov.au.
